Chocolate Chip Pizookie Recipe

Pizookies are a recent addition to my baking repertoire, which is surprising considering how simple and easy they are to make. It’s perfect when you’re in the mood for a chocolate chip cookie, or a warm chocolatey dessert. There’s something about Pizookies that adds an exciting twist to a classic cookie recipe. Indulge in this dessert right out of the oven, and play around with different topping combinations. Definitely a staple recipe to have on hand, and perfect for sharing!

Equipment
- 8'' cast iron skillet
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate
- vanilla ice cream (optional topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Take the melted butter and add to a medium sized mixing bowl. Add in the brown sugar, and wisk until evenly combined. To this mixture, add in the vanilla extract and 1 egg and wisk until evenly incorporated. Next, in the same bowl, add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until combined. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Grease the skillet with your desired method (butter, sprays, etc.) and spread batter evenly in skillet. Bake for 22-24 minutes, or until lightly browned around the edges.
- Serve with your favorite ice cream on top!
